Tenure Track Faculty Positions – Bioactive Lipids in Cancer and Inflammation

The Bioactive Lipids in Cancer and Inflammation program of the Department of Pathology, Wayne State University School of Medicine invites applications for two full-time, tenure track positions. These positions will be defined as 70-80% research and 20-30% teaching, depending on the goals of the individual who fills it.

Successful candidates are expected to be active collaborators with the faculty of the Bioactive Lipids Program. In addition, faculty members are expected to develop and maintain an independent extramurally funded research program. Active, funded research in the division is focused on the role of eicosanoids and eicosanoid biosynthetic enzymes in prostate cancer progression and metastasis. The Program's research focus is enhanced by NIH funded grants and with excellent laboratory facilities on the WSU campus.

A PhD or equivalent degree is required with a strong publication record and a commitment to excellence in research and teaching in a clinically relevant context. Preference will be given to candidates with research focus on bioactive lipids in cancer and/or inflammation with demonstrated abilities in attracting funding, conducting and publishing the results of hypothesis-based research, and interest in high quality graduate education.
